Nic Nemeth Wants To Represent TNA And Have His Name Be Synonymous With The Company

- After calling himself the people's Champion for over two decades, The Rock will officially be named people's Champion during the upcoming People's Choice Awards.

"Dwayne is one of the most beloved actors of our time who has achieved unprecedented success throughout his career," said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Live Events, Specials & E! News, NBCUniversal Entertainment Television and Streaming. "During a period where there has been a lot of uncertainty, Johnson has displayed an uncanny ability to raise spirits and make people smile despite circumstances. His philanthropic efforts and international social media presence has made him a cultural leader and inspiration to many, making him the perfect recipient for The People's Champion Award of 2021."

- Speaking with Sportskeeda, Xavier Woods admitted that he's still sour about those that told him some of his crazy ideas for wrestling would never work.

"So, being in this realm of my career, I feel really excited because now I'm digging more into that notebook of things that people said would never happen. When I was in FCW back in the day, 'Hey, I think we should do this, this and this,' 'No, that is ridiculous. This is a wrestling show! Why would you try to be funny? People don't want to be entertained; they don't want to laugh.' What are you talking about, dude? And then we made New Day, and everybody shut up, well, not everybody but those people. I have a lot of beef in my chest from the past. Anyway, it drives me! I'm digging more into that notebook of ridiculous things and seeing how I can work them into the show and make them fun and exciting and make them feel new," revealed Xavier.

Beth Phoenix On How Renee Paquette Writing A Cookbook Inspired Her

So last year I had the privilege of watching my friend Renee Paquette create and put out this lovely cookbook which was just such a beautiful process and I know she poured her heart and soul into it and it was really inspiring to me. So I kinda just started writing songs and sharing them with friends and family and getting their feedback on stuff and then like I said the WWE Group offered me an opportunity...they helped to contribute and guided me so much in this process.

Beth Phoenix Says She Got Cold Feet Before The Release, Explains How Her Husband Edge Helped Motivate Her To Not Give Up

Then I kinda got cold feet, about half way through especially after we got the photos done and we started picking a date for this to come out. I was like oh my gosh, 'I am afraid of the feedback', I just started feeling panics like everybody knows me as a wrestler and I was kinda like this tough wrestler,'what are they gonna think of this new side of me, am I gonna get laughed at, does this album really suck and everybody is just gonna try and be nice to me?' {laughs} It was a lot of stuff, I had a lot of fear kinda ruling my decisions. I almost bailed on the whole thing and my husband, was like 'don't let fear rule your decision, when you put something out into the world it's nobody's business what they think of it, you just put your heart into it, your soul into it, let it out there and let it be recieved how its received but that shouldn't lessen how proud you are of it and that's definitely how I felt with the product I put out. I got wonderful feedback... there's always gonna be the haters, you can't control them or focus on them. I am proud that I went for it because I like to live my life with the philosophy of "no what ifs."

- Sammy Kiss is back with his second part of his retrospective for the last ten years of WildKat Sports in New Orleans.

Ten Years Of WildKat Sports & Entertainment

Year Two: 2012
"A Champion is crowned"

As WildKat Sports entered it's second year, things were already in full swing. A partnership with the National Wrestling Alliance brought legitimacy to the new promotion and awareness to the fact that professional wrestling had returned to New Orleans. Even more awareness came with the appointing of Percy Pringle the III as WildKat General Manager. Many wrestling fans may be more familiar with as Percy Pringle when he worked in the WWE as Paul Bearer. A long time presence in southern wrestling, Pringle brought his experience and passion for the business to WildKat and was instrumental in getting the promotion started. His contributions to WildKat can not be overstated. With Percy Pringle at the helm, a second class of students starting and the inaugural WildKat Class now getting their feet wet, the future for WildKat seemed bright.

What the promotion now needed was a symbol for this new found excellence in professional wrestling. This symbol would manifest as the WildKat Sports Heavyweight Championship.

A single night Tournament was held featuring professional wrestling stars from across the south as well as the new blood cultivated from the WildKat Dojo. A unique 12 man tournament saw six opening round match ups. Three matches within each bracket saw winners advance to a Triple Threat Match, where that winner would advance to the finals. That Final saw former NWA Jr Heavyweight Champion "The Exclamation Point" Steve Anthony face the "Southern Stomper" Luke Hawx. With Luke Hawx's previously discussed history with wrestling in NOLA, many considered him a favorite to become the the inaugural honcho, but in the end the incredibly athletic, high-flying Steve Anthony would claim victory and become the first ever WildKat Sports Champion!

Now with an established emblem of excellence for the promotion, WildKat Sports and Entertainment was poised to take business to a whole new level.
