Triple H hopes WWE is part of a change in Saudi Arabia.
On Friday, there will be a 50-man Royal Rumble, a cage match, and a casket match featuring the Undertaker, but none of the WWE women wrestlers will be on the card at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. In an interview with The Independent, Triple H said despite the differences between the United States and Saudi Arabia, the country is worth WWE visiting.
"I understand that people are questioning it, but you have to understand that every culture is different and just because you don?t agree with a certain aspect of it, it doesn't mean it?s not a relevant culture," said Triple H. "You can?t dictate to a country or a religion about how they handle things but, having said that, WWE is at the forefront of a women?s evolution in the world and what you can?t do is affect change anywhere by staying away from it," he continued.
Besides the lack of female wrestlers, the event has been reportedly segregated between families and single men. The obvious cultural differences will affect this year's visit to Saudi Arabia, but Triple H believes change could come and WWE could be a part of that.
?While, right now, women are not competing in the event, we have had discussions about that and we believe and hope that, in the next few years they will be. That is a significant cultural shift in Saudi Arabia," said Triple H.
In the rest of the interview, Triple H spoke about the "cultural shift" in Saudi Arabia and cited the first women's wrestling match WWE held in another country experiencing a cultural shift in Abu Dhabi which is the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
