WWE Confirms That John Cena Will Not Be In Men's Royal Rumble Match; Braun Strowman Replacing Cena

John Cena will not be a part of this year's show.

It has been confirmed by WWE that former 5-time WWE United States Champion John Cena will not be competing in this year's Royal Rumble match. WWE listed Cena as "questionable" for the Royal Rumble because of a storyline injury that he suffered in a Fatal 4-Way match on RAW involving Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor to determine the challenger to Brock Lesnar's Universal Title.

The storyline was done so that John can commit to his duties on the acting side of his career as it was announced this past Friday that Cena will be starring in a Netflix action-comedy directed by Jason Bateman.

Now that John Cena is out of the match, this is how the field of announced competitors in the men's Royal Rumble match looks:

R-Truth (#30)
Drew McIntyre
Kofi Kingston
Xavier Woods
Big E
Seth Rollins
Jeff Hardy
Samoa Joe
Bobby Lashley
Dean Ambrose
Elias
Jinder Mahal
Andrade
Rey Mysterio
Mustafa Ali
Baron Corbin
Apollo Crews
Titus O'Neil
Randy Orton
Braun Strowman

In an update from WWE, "The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman is replacing John Cena in the men's Royal Rumble match.
