Paul Heyman Returning Tonight, Signed New Deal With WWE

Multiple media outlets are reporting that as Brock Lesnar makes his return to WWE programming tonight on Raw, Lesnar will be accompanied by Paul Heyman.

Heyman, whose contract with WWE recently expired, just signed a new deal. Even before that, Jim Ross tweeted that Heyman would be at Raw in Atlanta tonight.

WWE has been promoting the appearance of Lesnar on tonight's episode, in advance of a match at Summerslam pitting Lesnar against Randy Orton. Summerslam takes place August 21 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Since Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012, Heyman has been working alongside the former WWE and UFC champion as Lesnar's "agent" and mouthpiece. Neither man has appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 32, when Lesnar defeated Dean Ambrose in a street fight.

Lesnar, who was drafted to Raw in the brand extension draft last month, is coming off a decision victory over Mark Hunt at UFC 200 on July 9. That outcome might be changed, as Lesnar since has been notified of a possible anti-doping violation by the USADA.

That violation would place Lesnar's MMA future in doubt but it will not affect the WWE plans for Lesnar. WWE recently announced that it did not consider Lesnar's potential failed drug test for the UFC as a violation of the WWE's own wellness policy.

Heyman had seemingly been enjoying his time since his WWE contract expired, participating in a one-man show in the UK, which was met with great success.
