Alex Kane is set to headline his third straight MLW pay-per-view when he defends the MLW World Heavyweight Title against Tom Lawlor at MLW Slaughterhouse.
Kane won the title from Alex Hammerstone at MLW Never Say Never in the first MLW on FITE special and defended the title against Willie Mack at MLW Fury Road.
Kane was originally scheduled to Davey Boy Smith Jr, but he was placed on injured reserve. Kane will now battle a returning Tom Lawlor.
Kane had been on a steady upward trajectory since making his MLW debut in 2021, and Court Bauer praised him as someone who stepped up as a locker room leader over the past year.
Speaking to Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Kane said about taking on a bigger role, "When I first got there, I was a little timid. Even though the atmosphere was chill, I didn't really know how to move and stuff like that. Over time, with the confidence Court and management has had in me, I've kind of blossomed. With Bomaye Fight Training, reaching out to talent and bringing them in, and getting more representation on screen. Court told me when I won the belt, 'You're the locker room leader now. However you want the locker room to be, it's ging to be.' I'm trying to foster an even more chill environment. I want everyone to get along and watch each other's matches. I want it to be as much of a team as it can possibly be. The goal is to put on the best show for these fans as possible."
Kane has brought in various talents for tryouts in the Bomaye Fight Club, which is backed by Don King.
