This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown Live! Tonight in our main event we have a six pack challenge to determine the new number one contender for Randy Orton' s WWE Championship! We also have Kevin Owens taking on AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger will be in action as well as Charlotte and maybe even Shinsuke so be sure to come back here at 8PM EST for all of the action!
-We start the show with Charlotte coming out and saying that she deserves a title shot before Naomi comes out and attacks her. Shane then comes out and says that Charlotte has to earn a title shot and says that if she can beat Naomi she'll get a title shot next week. Charlotte attacks Naomi after Shane leaves then holds up the belt before Naomi tosses her out of the ring and holds the belt up as we go to commercial.
Six Pack Challenge Match
Dolph is in control of Mojo as we come back from commercial until Mojo comes back and drops him repeatedly before hitting a clothesline in the corner. Dolph gets caught coming off of the top rope, then Mojo slams him down to the mat before knocking Rowan off of the apron. Mojo then hits Dolph with running right hand in the corner before Jinder goes for the pin, Sami breaking up the pin for a near fall. Jinder sends Sami out of the ring, then Rowan hits him with a power slam for a quick two count that Luke breaks up. Dolph sends Rowan into Luke, then hits Rowan with a Zig-Zag for a near fall.
Dolph dropkicks Luke before Luke catches him and hits a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall, then Jinder pulls Luke out of the ring and sends him into the steps before Jinder goes to spear Sami, but Jinder runs shoulder first into the post. Sami dives out onto Luke at ringside, then Mojo sends Rowan end over end with a shoulder tackle before Sami hits an exploder suplex into the corner on Jinder. Sami goes for the Helluva Kick, but two unknown men grab his legs, allowing Jinder to hit him with a forearm in the corner for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jinder Mahal via pinfall
-Randy comes out and squares off with Jinder before Bray appears on the big screen and shows Randy what he can expect from the House of Horror's match. Bray says that he wants Randy to feel his pain and that he won't walk out the same after the match as we go to commercial.
-We get a very well put together video package for Shinsuke Nakamura, then AJ being interviewed about whether he'd rather face Kevin Owens or Chris Jericho. AJ says that he doesn't care who he faces and that he has the advantage and this was the house that he built. Corbin comes in and says he doesn't know why AJ is being interviewed, then they set up a match for later tonight.
-We see Charlotte with the rest of the women from the division who welcome her to Smackdown! Live, but she just walks past them as we go to commercial.
Naomi vs Charlotte
Naomi goes right after her, but Charlotte uses her aggressiveness against her for a quick one count as we see the rest of the women backstage watching on a monitor. Charlotte puts a head scissor on Naomi and plays to the crowd before turning it in a series of pin attempts, only getting a quick two count. Charlotte sends Naomi across the ring and stomps her in the corner before hitting a snapmare into a headlock that Naomi quickly gets out of. Naomi flips Charlotte, then hits a leg drop for a quick two count before they exchange strikes; Naomi using kicks and Charlotte using chops. Naomi drops Charlotte with a roundhouse kick for a quick two count, then both are sent over the top rope as we go to commercial.
Charlotte hits a reverse DDT for a quick two count, then hits a series of knee drops for another quick two count. Naomi comes back with a series of kicks and clotheslines, finishing with a stunner and a flying cross body for a near fall. Naomi misses a kick, then Charlotte kicks her when she goes for a flying hip attack before hitting the Natural Selection for the pin and the win.
Winner: Charlotte via pinfall
American Alpha vs The Shining Stars
AA are in control early until Primo and Epico double team Jordan, then Jordan tries to suplex one over the ropes from the apron, but the other helps him when he rolls Jordan up for the pin and the win, shocking everyone in the arena and the announcers, calling it a major upset.
Winner: The Shining Stars via pinfall
-We get Tye being interviewed about what it's been like since coming to Smackdown! Live and a video package showcasing his career in NXT.
-Kevin comes out and is about to have a match before deciding to just join on commentary for the next match.
Baron Corbin vs AJ Styles
AJ tries to lick in a choke when he jumps on Corbin's back, but Baron backs him into the corner to break it before tossing AJ out of the ring. Corbin then catches AJ coming off of the apron and drops him onto it as we go to commercial.
Corbin is in control as we come back, choking AJ before tossing him across the ring and he slides ribs first into the ring post. They exchange forearms, then Corbin runs at AJ, but goes into the ring post shoulder first before AJ hits him with a series of strikes, dropping him with a Pele kick. AJ hits a running forearm in the corner, then goes for an ushigaroshi, but Corbin counters. AJ counters him and drops him before hitting a leg lariat for a near fall, then teases a Styles Clash, but Corbin counters with a chokebreaker for a near fail of his own. AJ locks in a calf killer, but Corbin gets to the ropes, then Corbin hits a Deep Six for a near fall. AJ sends Corbin out of the ring, then goes for another Styles Clash only for AJ to be back dropped right into Kevin Owens at the announce table. AJ hits a Phenomenal Forearm off of the apron and sends Corbin over the barricade before getting back in the ring for the count out victory.
Winner: AJ Styles via count out
