Kenny Omega Discusses His Goals For 2017, Why He Wasn't Satisfied With WK11

Kenny Omega has the world in his hands after an all-time classic match with Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11.

Omega noted two days after the event that he'd be stepping away from Japan following the 45-minute battle, which fueled rumors that he'd be heading to the WWE. According to Omega himself in a new interview with Tokyo Sports, he's glad he won the match, but has other goals in mind. (Translated by Chris Charlton).

Swerve Strickland Says He Still Has Bruised Ribs From Weeks Ago

"A lot of people went to go and work for WWE. I wanted to do what nobody else had done or could do. I changed history (by winning the G1). The last year surprised even me. After the Okada match, so many people were saying it was the best match they'd ever seen. Western media gave it six stars out of five! The only thing I'm not satisfied with is that I lost the match. This year, I want to have the richest of prizes in my possession, wherever that may be."

There are conflicting reports in regards to when Okada's contract actually is up. Last year, NJPW lost Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to WWE, while Kota Ibushi also walked away from working for the company full-time.

NJPW has a round of shows with weekend with CMLL in Fanatastica Mania, which Fightful.com will have live coverage of.
